Invisible Wars
Question
Today in bible study we talked about "invisible wars." Where in the bible does it talk about "invisible wars?"
Answer
There are many places that the Bible mentions wars that we might consider "invisible," which take place in the spiritual realm. For example, in 2 Corinthians 10:3-7 Paul mentions spiritual warfare, and indicates that this warfare is invisible because it is not recognized by those who look at things as they are outwardly (compare the heavenly legions that came to Elisha's aid in 2 Kgs. 6:14-17). Also, in Colossians 1:16 Paul speaks of invisible thrones, dominions, rulers and authorities. Insofar as struggles occur in the spiritual realm between these angels and demons (see Dan. 10:4-21; Rev. 12:7), the struggles constitute invisible wars.
One might also consider invisible wars to be those waged in our own bodies as we fight against sin (Rom. 7:22-23; Jam. 4:1; 1 Pet. 2:11).
